Materials for microfluidic manufacturing
High-performance polymers for demanding applications
Selecting the right material is essential to the performance and reliability of a microfluidic product. Each material has its own physical, chemical and optical properties, which can significantly affect the functionality of the final device. Bondus helps customers select the material that best suits their application.
Our material portfolio includes polymer plates for precision CNC machining and polymer foils that can be cut to size. By keeping a wide selection of materials in stock, we can respond quickly to customer requirements and provide an efficient route from material selection to finished component.
Whether you require a prototype, a small series or a larger production run, our team can help you identify and process a suitable material for your application.
Polymer plate materials
Bondus has a wide range of polymer plate materials available from stock. These materials are suitable for producing precision microfluidic components and other technical parts through CNC machining.
Materials available from stock
COC
- Grade 6013
- Grade 8007
- COP
- PC
- PEI
- PEEK
- PET-G
- PMMA / Acrylic
- POM
- PP
- PTFE
Plate thicknesses range from 1 to 30 mm, depending on the material and grade. The materials can be precision machined to create components according to your drawings and specifications.

Polymer foils
In addition to polymer plates, Bondus offers a selection of polymer foils from stock. Foils are particularly useful when a thin polymer layer is required, for example for optical elements within a device.

Foils cut to size
Standard foil dimensions, such as microscope-slide formats, might not always be suitable for your application. Bondus can cut polymer foils to size using plotter machines. Based on your technical drawings, the foil can be cut into the dimensions and shapes required for your application.
Whether you need simple rectangular pieces or more complex geometries, we can discuss the most suitable cutting approach based on the material, thickness, dimensions and required tolerances. Options include leaving the protective liner intact, cutting completely through the foil or using a kiss-cut process.
This enables a complete manufacturing cycle, from cutting the foil to the required shape through to bonding it to other polymer components.
Beyond polymers
Although our material portfolio is primarily focused on polymers, we also have experience working with other materials that can be integrated into microfluidic devices.
Quartz and glass covers
Quartz and glass covers can be used as optical windows within a microfluidic device. They are particularly suitable for applications involving microscopy, imaging or optical analysis, where high optical quality and transparency are important.
Silicon chips
Silicon chips can be integrated into microfluidic devices for sensing, measurement and analytical applications. Silicon is particularly relevant when a microfluidic system needs to be combined with a sensor or other semiconductor-based functionality.
Bondus can support the integration of these materials into the overall device, depending on your application and assembly requirements.
